The NSPCC is the leading children’s charity in the UK. They specialise in child protection and dedicated to protecting children and young people today to prevent abuse tomorrow.
Since 2006 the NSPCC and Childline formally joined forces to support and help more children and young people across the UK.
The impact of Covid-19
The pandemic has had a devastating effect on the charity sector and specifically, the amount of donations received. Areas of their website used by children has increased from 2,000 to 10,000 hits a day.
The NSPCC NI volunteer numbers have dropped drastically by 30% in direct correlation to Covid-19. Large investments were needed to provide IT equipment for volunteers to working from home to maintain Childline.
Large events, such as the London Marathon were cancelled which contributed over £1 million in sponsorship for the NSPCC – They need our help even more.
What are we doing to help?
For over 4 years now, we have been involved closely with the NSPCC Northern Ireland with many fundraising efforts.
On Wednesday 23rd September, four members of Bell & Company; Terry Bell, Noel O’Hare, Ionagh McEvoy and Domilia Timonyte are going to take on The Power of 4. All the team are very excited to take on the challenge to support such a worthy cause.
We appreciate these are difficult times. However, this is exactly when the most vulnerable children and young people need our help. If you can support us in any way, we would be so grateful.
